Intertextuality in the media
introduction: in this post i will be looking at how Intertextuality impacts the media
----------------------------------
Intertextuality is basically making a reference to something in the media for example i could i could tap the side of my head as a reference to a meme on the internet.
Intertextuality has an effect on the audience because they may know the reference you are trying to make if its a really old reference it'll make old people feel a sense of nostalgia and if its recent then the audience will notice and think that the person on stage is easy to relate to because you're keeping up with the times.
-------------------------------
MAIN TASK
This is intertextuality because the person is wearing all red and black like Michel Jackson. This reference was made to either mock Michel Jackson like for comedic effect or to make people think "hey I've seen that before" it grabs your attention because its very recognizable and its mainly aimed at an older audience.
This use of intertextuality is targeted at the younger generation and people in their 30's because almost everyone knows star wars and most of the younger generation knows what family guy is. This is also used to mock star wars for comedic effect to make the audience laugh.
This is intertextuality and its aimed at people of the younger generation because its overwatch (a shooting/FPS game made by blizzard in 2017) in a big crowd with weapons raised like a war and the same company made world of Warcraft which is a game focused on lore and war and there's a similar scene from warlords of draenor (an expansion pack for world of Warcraft) were an army charges at the dark portal.
---------------------------------------------------------
MAIN TASK 2
I will use intertextuality in my brief by making someone sit at a desk with a school pc on it and i will get the person to just stare while i do a head and shoulder shot slowly going around the person. This works because its a reference to documentary's about professional gamers. While doing this shot i will make the person at the desk wear a fortnite shirt (referencing the popular game fortnite.)
intertextuality:
1. put world of Warcraft statues in the background
2. put the names of the actors in a world of Warcraft font
