---------------------------------

TASK 1 Create a whole new blog dedicated to the Coursework.
Watch the video for instructions on how to create your coursework blog.

If you haven't created a blog before then click on this link and follow the instructions.

-------------------------------------

TASK 2 - Create a new post, copy and paste the Learning Objectives onto it... You need to title the new post "NEA BRIEFS".

--------------------------------

TASK 3 - Read through the brief and select ONE... write a short paragraph as why you chose it.  Make sure you include the following information in your explanation as well:

- What skills do you already have that can help you produce your chosen media texts?
- What skills do you intend to develop whilst working on your media texts?

Be specific about the skills - don't just write "Photoshop skills", make reference to specific skills from Photoshop that you either know or want to develop.

Make sure you choose your brief well, read ALL the information and requirements to make sure you fully understand what's required.

Further guidance:

  • You must not reproduce an existing media product or brand.
  • Group productions are not permitted but you can use your friends and others to act in, or appear in, the media production. In addition, un-assessed learners and others may operate lighting, sound, recording and other equipment under your direction if required.
  • To make it simple... these briefs are individual.  You can use other people to help you but make sure you end up doing all the technical tasks (photography, filming, editing, etc).  You're NOT required to be in-front of the camera in your own production.

---------------------------------

TASK 4 - Create a mind map of initial ideas for the product in your chosen brief.  You may use popplet, padlet or other technology to record this.

Key information required in your mind map:

  • Potential name for the production.
  • Potential names of people you might work with.
  • Potential target audience for the production.  The brief already gives you an idea but you need to be more specific.  You need to cover gender, race, interests and socio-economic status.
  • Ideas for
  •  type of content - types of scenes, characters, artists, narrative, interviews, etc.
  • Ideas for type of images and shots.
  • Ideas for mise-en-scene for each of the images, video shots (colour scheme, locations, props, make up, hair, etc).
  • Ideas for types of representations and stereotypes you might include in your production.
The mind map below is an example to get you started... it's very basic and it doesn't contain all the info above... so just use it as a guide or to get your creativity flowing!

I think i'll choose a film documentary because i can already edit fairly well i can practice it before the test and look up documentary's to get a better understanding of what ill need to learn before doing the exam. i will make sure that i can edit and write a script also understand camera work. I chose this because i am not a very good writer when it comes to limits, i feel that i am able to understand editing, camera work ext better then i can put thoughts into words. I would like to develop my editing skills such as adding in background audio and overall sound adjustments i would also like to develop my cuts. I would also want to develop camera work as i am very unsure of it.

1.For the documentary i am going to make it about why world of Warcraft is a good game for kids on the spectrum
2.my target audience is 10-13 year old's  race black/white gender male/female, middle to higher class, people on the spectrum that like gaming.
3.close up shots, head and shoulder shot and a medium shot.
4. mise-en-scene clear room, using my pc as a prop (like showing me playing a game.)
5.  types of representations and stereotypes wow reduces mental breakdowns due to frustration people on the spectrum experience when playing games were you can lose.
6. clear room
7. scene of someone playing wow with their eyes glued to the screen
8. sideways camera movement ext
9.potential people in documentary: brook, Danny, theo, dannie, sam, james buzzby, maria, roman and brandon. I judged them based on passion for the subject and how open or outgoing they were towards new things.
10. need ONLY THREE people.
11. i might try to do a side angle while they are talking the video will be in slow motion during this but the audio will be fine.
12. someone playing a game head and shoulder shot, slow motion
